The PADI Search & Recovery Diver is a specialty course and can be applied toward your PADI Advance Open Water Diver rating as one of your elective dives.

Typically this course can be completed in one day. During this course you'll gain practical skills and expert knowledge for underwater search and recovery. This course includes the following subjects:

1. Planning, organization, procedures, and search & recovery techniques.

2. Problems and hazards of search & recovery diving.

3. Low visibility conditions and underwater navigation techniques.

4. Various lifting equipment and proper techniques for recovery of objects.

5. Safety considerations, use of various search patterns, reels and lines.
