PADI Deep Diver Specialty

The PADI Deep Diver is a specialty course and can be applied toward your PADI Advance Open Water Diver rating as one of your elective dives.

 

Deep dives  are to be between 18 - 30 meters / 60 - 100 feet but can not exceed the PADI recreational depth limit of 40 meters / 130 feet or exceed the decompression limits on any dive.

 

Typically this course can be completed in one day. You make your deeper dive in the morning, followed by a shallower dive in the afternoon. During this course you'll gain practical skills and expert knowledge for deep diving.

  1. Planning, organization, procedures and deep diving techniques.

  2. Hazards of deep diving and problem management.

  3. Risk factors and decompression-tables review.

  4. Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures.

  5. Special equipment and buoyancy-control considerations.

  6. Guidelines for flying after high-altitude diving and deep diving.

  7. Introduction to recompression chambers.
